This museum tells the story in a simple way, making it ideal for a family visit. If it's good enough for Al Murray, it's good enough for me!

If English members get free entry, why not take advantage of it? This military museum is excellent and definitely worth a visit. It is well laid out with great displays and informative information. Plus, it's conveniently located next to the castle!

This excellent museum is well worth the just under £10 admission fee for 2 adults. We opted to visit only the museum and not the castle. It is very well laid out with great displays and informative descriptions.

This is a good regimental museum, but there is a lot of reading required as the interactive exhibits were not working.

This is a great place with much more to see and do than in the castle itself.

This museum is really interesting. I had a relative who was stationed at the castle in the 19th century.

This is a small museum about the history of the regiments that were based here at the castle. There are very interesting exhibits to look at, such as those about the Boer Wars and the two World Wars. They also had a temporary exhibition about the 80th anniversary of the battle of Arnhem, which was nice. The museum café was also lovely. Additionally, entry to the museum was included with our visit to the castle, which was a bonus.

This is a great little museum that relates to the history of Cumbria’s County Infantry Regiment, the Border Regiment, the King’s Own Royal Border Regiment, and the local Militia.

This great little museum is located in the grounds of Carlisle castle and is free to visit once you've paid to visit the castle. As English Heritage members, our entry to the castle is free. If you're at the castle and Tony is doing one of his free tours, make sure to join it!
